WordCamp Surat

A few members of our team attended the very first edition of WordCamp Surat. This marked an exciting milestone for the local WordPress community. Some of our colleagues were seasoned WordCamp participants. They had attended multiple editions in the past. For others, this was their very first experience. That mix of familiarity and fresh perspective made the experience even more enriching.

Engaging conversations and insightful sessions were highlights of the event. It offered a fantastic platform to connect with like-minded professionals. Attendees exchanged ideas and explored new perspectives in the ever-evolving WordPress ecosystem. Our team members returned with renewed energy, fresh learning’s, and a deeper appreciation for the power of community-driven collaboration.

BlaBlaBlocks Formats

This month, we’re excited to spotlight a powerful enhancement to our internal toolkit our custom-built Rich Text Formats for WordPress. It started as a small internal initiative. It has steadily evolved into a feature set. Now, it actively powers several of our live client projects. These formats are also set to play a key role in our upcoming product and platform revamp. We originally introduced just two Rich Text formats, but we have more lined-up. Based on real-world usage patterns across different projects, we’ve continued to expand this library. Several more formats are already in the pipeline. They will be released in phased batches. This ensures they align perfectly with practical needs and performance goals.

While blocks are incredibly powerful, we don’t always need a block for everything. Rich Text formats offer a lighter, more flexible alternative. They make content creation faster, cleaner, and more intuitive. This is achieved without compromising on design consistency. This balance of flexibility and control is exactly what these new formats aim to deliver. And this is just the beginning. We’ll be teasing some of the upcoming formats very soon. Stay tuned as we continue to refine and expand this feature set for even smarter content creation.

BlaBlaBlocks Extensions

We’re excited to share an update on BlaBlaBlocks. It is our growing block editor initiative. It is built to fulfill real-world editorial needs for both our clients and our internal projects. Over time, we’ve developed a carefully curated set of custom blocks. We have also created several powerful Rich Text formats. All of these are designed to make content creation more efficient, flexible, and refined. Our approach has focused on extending and enhancing the existing editor and core blocks through smart, targeted adjustments. We chose not to rebuild them from scratch. This approach allows us to preserve the strengths of the native WordPress editor. We then layer in the final touches that elevate the overall editing experience.

We are packaging all these improvements into an open-source offering called BlaBlaBlocks Extensions. This makes these enhancements accessible beyond our internal use. These extensions are the direct outcome of practical project needs. They are small but impactful refinements that add polish, control, and usability to the editor. This is just the beginning of what’s to come. As we continue preparing everything for release, we’ll be sharing more behind-the-scenes updates. Stay tuned as BlaBlaBlocks Extensions gets closer to being ready for the community.

Color Palette Block v2

What began as a simple creative solution for a client project has now grown into a much more powerful tool. It serves our internal ecosystem. Some time ago, we built a custom block to visually show color palettes. This helps teams show brand colors in a clean, structured, and visually engaging way. Soon after, we realized we needed something similar for our internal documentation system built on the WordPress block editor. That insight led to the birth of our very own Color Palette Block.

The first version of the block was built to solve a clear need and it did its job well. It allowed us to represent colors directly within content and improved both clarity and consistency across design documentation. Over time, though, our use cases grew, and so did our expectations around customization, usability, and flexibility.

That’s where Version 2 comes in. We have been actively working on the next evolution of the Color Palette Block. It is becoming more intuitive. It is also becoming more Customizable. Frankly, it is a lot more fun to use. Version 2 introduces improved controls. It offers a smoother editing experience. The focus is on refining what already worked and pushing it further.

This is just a sneak peek of what’s coming. Stay tuned as we get ready to share more from this exciting upgrade.
